Forget-Me-Nots
By Marjorie Deibert

11 members met at the Picadilly in Warner Robins on
November 19th, 2008 for our monthly luncheon.  Once again
we missed our leader, Olive Cherrington, who has been
in and out of the hospital with pneumonia.  Some of our
members were absent because of the date change.  We
enjoyed the fellowship and keeping up with the news of
everyone.
On December 17th we met at the Picadilly and we were
missing some of our regular members who were absent
because of the date change.  Our Honorary members,
Sheila Phillips and Bertha Jump, had decorated the long
table with greenery and gold tinsel which made it look like
Christmas.  They had a small gift at each one’s place.  We
really appreciate the efforts of these ladies to remember
the widows.
Once again we missed our leader-Olive Cherrington who
was not feeling well enough to attend.  When Harley
Phillips was Potentate he and Lady Sheila asked Olive if
she would help to get The Forget Me Nots started in Al
Sihah.  Olive did a great job of getting widows together
and having a monthly luncheon.  This is why we missed
her when she wasn’t present because she was there at
the beginning, kept it going and built it up.
We were saddened by the new that on Christmas Day
Olive left us to be with Jack.  We will remember how she
called each member and reminded them of the meeting
and luncheon.  No one can take her place in our hearts.
We will do our best to keep the Forget Me Nots going as a
tribute to her memory.
When she felt she could no longer be in charge, she
and Sheila asked me to do it for her.  I have been doing it
but I can never fill her shoes.  She will be greatly missed
but not forgotten.
Please remember the fourth Wednesday and come out
and join us.  Need a ride? - we welcome guests.
Not a member?-contact me or the Office for details.  We
welcome all Shrine-Masonic widows.
